Amb. Michael Brodsky is Chief Executive Officer of StrategEast, a strategic center whose goal is to reinforce the values of rule of law and private property protection in Eurasian and Baltic countries and to assist these countries in the process of economic and social transformation.
In this role, Mr. Brodsky is responsible for developing, communicating and implementing the organization’s strategy, its overall operations and performance, and for developing the strategic partnerships with various partners and donors.
Mr. Brodsky has vast experience in international affairs, public diplomacy, brand strategy, business and technology promotion, and possesses deep understanding of political and economic environment in FSU countries.
Between 2015-2018, Mr. Brodsky served as the Ambassador of Israel in Kazakhstan, and as a non-resident Ambassador in Kyrgyzstan. During his term, he brought the relationship between Israel and Central Asia to a new level, and managed to organize the first visit of the Israeli Prime Minister to the region. For his contribution to the relations between Israel and Kazakhstan, Amb. Brodsky was awarded a special certificate by the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Mr. Abdrakhmanov.
In 2015 he was nominated by the Israeli media for ‘Hero of the Year’ award, for being the first civil servant to reach the rank of ambassador from the 1990s Post-Soviet aliyah.
Mr. Brodsky’s diplomatic career includes working as Deputy Director of Eurasia department at the Israeli MFA (2013-2015). In this capacity he was responsible for developing the political relations with the Caucasus and Central Asian countries.
In 2009-2013 he served as the Director of Public Affairs at the Israeli embassy in London, and was in charge of developing and implementing the overall PR strategy of Israel in the UK.
He also served as Press Attaché and Political Counselor at the embassy of Israel in Moscow (2003-2008). In this role he was responsible for monitoring and analyzing political processes in Russia and other Eurasian countries, developing and implementing bilateral agenda, providing expertise and recommendations to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other governmental bodies.
Michael studied Political Science (BA) and Diplomacy and National Security (MA), both in Tel-Aviv University.
