EU, Armenia pledge to further develop bilateral cooperation

On 3 February, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, spoke over the phone.

The President of the European Council and the Prime Minister of Armenia discussed EU-Armenia relations. Both parties pledged to further develop EU-Armenia bilateral cooperation, including commercial ties.

Armenia’s democratic reform agenda was at the heart of the discussion. The President of the European Council stressed the importance the EU attaches to Armenia’s reform paths.

During the phone conversation, the two leaders also discussed their expectations for the Eastern Partnership Summit, which is to take place in June in Brussels.
