First U.S. Department of Commerce certified trade mission kicks off in Uzbekistan

The first U.S. Department of Commerce certified trade mission starts today in Tashkent. The mission includes 30 representatives of 13 major US companies, including GE Transportation, Bechtel, John Deere, Procter & Gamble, Medtronic and Bell Helicopter, the business mission included the construction company Bechtel, considering participation in the implementation of major infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan, the developer of construction software AutoDesk and the investment company Silverleafe, which is implementing a project to create a cotton cluster in the Jizzakh province.

In addition, the largest private educational testing and measurement organization, ETS will visit Tashkent to discuss the organization of universities entrance exams with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of Uzbekistan.

The companies will learn more about the business and investment climate in Uzbekistan through meetings with top Uzbek government officials, American Chamber of Commerce members, state enterprises, international financial institutions, with a business forum scheduled on June 18, and in G2B on June 19, and B2B format matchmaking session on June 20.
