Kazakhstan to attract foreign investors in English

Minister for Investments and Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kassymbek named countries Kazakhstan wants investments from. He noted that state agencies will have to publish normative legal documents in English language. “To effectively work with investors and monitor the implementation of investment projects, a map of investment projects will be created with integration into the information and monitoring system,” the Minister added.

“36 countries are the first priority and 11 of them are the top-priority ones, we plan to work in this direction. Eleven countries are the main investors in our economy. 25 years of independence showed that these countries are investing in Kazakhstan most. In general, they are the main investors in the rest of the world. Among them are the European countries like Germany and France and the United States, Russia, China, South Korea, Japan and others,” Kassymbek said.

A thorough work with these states will be carried out by the Kazakh Invest national company, he said. “In addition, for a year now, with each embassy in these countries, a special adviser to the ambassador is working on attracting investments,” he added. The volume of direct foreign investments in the economy of Kazakhstan amounted to $20.6 billion in 2016 and increased by 40 percent, as compared to 2015.
