Prime-minister of Moldova: the country’s European aspirations recognized at Eastern Partnership Summit

Moldova’s European aspirations were recognized at the Eastern Partnership Summit. Prime Minister Pavel Filip made the statement during a TV show on 30 November.

The official noted that the declaration of the Eastern Partnership Summit comprised only positive things to our country. “We have got positive signals on the reduction of rates for roaming services, modernization of transport networks that connect us with the EU, especially, the TEN-T network, implementation of energy interconnection projects and development of small and medium-sized enterprises. We believe that thanks to EU support we will achieve these goals”, Filip said.

The premier noted that the Moldovan authorities realize that the Eastern Partnership is not an instrument of accession to the EU. “However, the Eastern Partnership Summit is a platform that provides effective communication with the EU. It helps Moldova benefit from EU support”, he said.

The premier paid a working visit to Brussels on 22-25 November, and participated in the fifth Eastern Partnership Summit. At the same time, on the sidelines of the summit, the official held a string of bilateral meetings with heads of state and government. Also, Filip met the Diaspora established in Belgium.
