StrategEast, USAID and KSSDA have successfully held the 6th Donors’ Coordination Meeting in Bishkek

We are pleased to announce that StrategEast Center for a New Economy, in collaboration with USAID and the Kyrgyz Software and Services Developers’ Association (KSSDA), has successfully held the regular Donors Coordination Meeting in Kyrgyzstan on March 12, 2024.

The purpose of the meeting was to coordinate actions between donors and increase funding for the development of the IT industry in Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting’s agenda had welcome remarks by the President of StrategEast, Anatoly Motkin. Chubak Temirov, Deputy Director of the High Technology Park (HTP), had a presentation about the initiatives of the HTP in Silicon Valley. Aiperi Nogoibaeva, Executive Director of KSSDA, shared information about the events on digital developments in Bishkek in 2024. It is expected to have support from participants of the meeting for the KIT Forum and KIT EXPO, B2B, Government and Business planned for June 7-8, to provide recommendable speakers and the relevant content. And Aizhan Alisherova-Duymaz, TA Lead of Accelerate Prosperity (AP), had a presentation about AP’s impact investor in terms of the contributed resources to the IT ecosystem, which resulted in creating new workplaces and new market linkages. Also, Aizhan shared AP’s work plans for 2024 that include the development of an investment-ready startup’ pipeline and digital knowledge development via the Virtual Accelerate Platform. Indicating that all these activities by AP have an overall positive effect on the ecosystem in Kyrgyzstan.

The participants agreed to invite the representatives of local IT companies for the next meeting to discuss the incentives that would motivate them to launch their activities in the regions.

The meeting was attended by representatives of High Technology Park of Kyrgyz Republic, Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic, US Embassy, USAID’s FGI, Accelerate Prosperity, World Bank, IFC, Delegation of the European Union, GIZ, Asian Development Bank and IMF.
