Country Manager for Azerbaijan
Gunay Hajili leads initiatives to strengthen digital transformation, innovation ecosystems, and regional partnerships across the region. A certified Project Management Professional (PMP), she has more than five years of experience managing complex programs with government institutions, international organizations, and private sector partners.
At StrategEast, Gunay oversees flagship programs connecting global technology companies with local ecosystems, including initiatives that expand IT education and certification opportunities for young professionals in Azerbaijan. She also contributes to fostering regional dialogue on artificial intelligence and the digital economy, supporting efforts to highlight Azerbaijan and Eurasia within the global digital landscape.
Earlier in her career, Gunay managed international projects funded by the European Union, OECD, and the U.S. Department of State, focusing on civil service development, educational assessment, and women’s empowerment. She has also gained experience in diplomacy and high-level event management, including supporting exchange programs in the U.S. Embassy in Baku and coordinating the participation of world leaders during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29).
