At the StrategEast State and IT Eurasian Forum, Mohammed Ridwan, co-founder and CEO of Pluto, led a powerful session titled “Deepfakes, Trust, and the Battle for Reality,” diving deep into one of today’s most urgent challenges — the erosion of truth and digital integrity in the age of synthetic media.
Mr. Ridwan explored the limitations of current deepfake detection technologies, noting that while deepfakes continuously advance toward perfect realism, detection tools face inherent constraints.
His talk raised critical questions about authenticity, trust, and governance in the digital age, urging societies to focus not only on detection but also on education, ethical framework, and technological accountability to safeguard truth in an increasingly AI-driven world.
