StrategEast and Oracle expand digital skills development across Eurasian universities

In 2025, StrategEast significantly strengthened its partnership with Oracle Academy and Oracle University, advancing digital skills development and modernizing higher education curricula across Eurasia. The collaboration focused on equipping universities, faculty, and students with industry-relevant competencies aligned with global technology standards.

Over the year, StrategEast partnered with more than 45 leading universities and IT faculties in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. Cooperation agreements were signed with key public and private higher education institutions, laying a solid foundation for the long-term integration of modern IT disciplines into academic programs.

Oracle Academy became a cornerstone of this effort. More than 80 academic programs and courses were updated using Oracle Academy materials, covering Java, SQL, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and other core digital subjects. Over 120 faculty members completed onboarding and began actively using Oracle Academy resources, gaining access to up-to-date content, practical assignments, and hands-on labs that strengthened the applied focus of their teaching without additional licensing costs. Partner universities estimate that more than 3,000 students engaged with Oracle Academy content in 2025, with adoption continuing to grow annually.

Kazakhstan emerged as a flagship example of Oracle Academy adoption, particularly at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Its Faculty of Information Technology took a systematic approach to embedding Oracle Academy materials across multiple programs, incorporating practical labs and hands-on learning into courses on programming, databases, and cloud technologies.

Alongside academic initiatives, Oracle University programs provided practice-oriented training to more than 1,000 students in areas such as DevOps, Data Science, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Application Development. These programs combined real-world use cases, hands-on labs, and certification preparation, helping students build skills aligned with international industry demand.

A major highlight of 2025 was the Digital Level Up program in Azerbaijan, delivered jointly by StrategEast, Oracle University, EPAM, and Sigma Software University. The program attracted 2,385 applications, trained over 1,000 participants, and graduated more than 200 students. Its curriculum covered Oracle Cloud Professional tracks, DevOps, Data Science, Data Analytics, and Software Testing, offering participants a direct pathway into IT careers.

Through this expanded collaboration, StrategEast, Oracle Academy, and Oracle University continue to build a sustainable ecosystem for digital talent development across Eurasia, demonstrating how strategic partnerships between universities and global technology companies can help close the digital skills gap and support national and regional development priorities.
