Ukraine’s agri-food exports to the EU increased by €1.2 billion in 2017

On 19 February, the European Commission published a report on “Monitoring EU Agri-Food Trade”, which details the export values for different sectors and countries of origin. According to the report, the value of Ukraine’s agri-food exports to the EU in 2017 increased by €1.2 billion (or 27%).

Together with Indonesia, this represents the most significant increase in EU imports from a third country, said the EU Delegation to Ukraine.

According to the report, the main countries of origin for EU agri-food imports over the past 12 months were Brazil (€11.8 billion), the USA (€11.0 billion), Argentina (€5.7 billion), followed by Ukraine, China, Indonesia, Switzerland and Turkey, each accounting for between €4.5 and 5.5 billion.

The report also indicates that EU exports to Ukraine increased by more than €200 million in the last twelve-month period.
