On June 12, StrategEast, in partnership with RECONOMY, hosted a dynamic virtual workshop titled “Supercharge Your Career with AI”, designed to help women from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine harness the potential of artificial intelligence to advance their careers. The session provided participants with hands-on experience and practical knowledge on how to use AI as a powerful tool for professional growth.
The workshop was led by Roojuta Lalani, Staff Software Engineer at Slack and a passionate mentor involved in initiatives such as TechWomen and Technovation. With her deep technical expertise and commitment to empowering women in technology, Roojuta guided participants through a range of topics—from AI-assisted resume building and interview preparation to identifying skill gaps and automating everyday tasks. She also shared valuable insights on how AI can support career decision-making and increase confidence in navigating the modern job market.
Participants explored AI concepts such as machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI, gaining a clearer understanding of the rapid evolution of these technologies and their impact across industries. The session emphasized the need for continuous upskilling to remain competitive, while also highlighting the limitations of AI and the importance of critical thinking when using AI tools.
Ethical considerations were also discussed, particularly the environmental impact of large-scale AI systems and the need for inclusive representation in shaping AI policy and development. Participants were encouraged to approach AI as a supportive tool rather than a replacement for human expertise and to remain mindful of data privacy when integrating AI into their workflows.
The workshop concluded with recommendations for further learning, including the use of curated resources. Participants were invited to continue exploring AI tools, reflect on their career paths with a new perspective, and stay connected for upcoming workshops and materials from the organizers.
This event was part of the broader AI Policy Dialogue Initiative, implemented by StrategEast in partnership with RECONOMY, an inclusive and green economic development program of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation in partnership with Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe. The initiative aims to strengthen multistakeholder collaboration and foster meaningful dialogue to develop responsible and inclusive AI strategies and governance across Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
