StrategEast and BTU host event on Oracle education and career opportunities

On June 3, StrategEast and Business and Technology University (BTU) jointly organized the event “Building Tech Careers with Oracle: Skills, Education & Opportunities” at the BTU Conference Hall, bringing together students, professors, and technology enthusiasts to explore Oracle global opportunities in technology education and professional development.

The event was opened by Lika Merabishvili, Regional Director for the Caucasus at StrategEast, and Elene Mamukelashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Technology at BTU, who welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of industry-academia collaboration in preparing future technology professionals.

The session was moderated by Alex Yazepchik, Talent Development Lead, and featured presentations from Oracle representatives on educational and career development opportunities available through Oracle’s global programs.

Participants received an overview of Oracle Academy from Orlaith Lawton McCormack, Senior Marketing Manager, Oracle Academy, who introduced Oracle’s educational resources, learning pathways, and opportunities available for universities and faculty members.

The audience also learned about Oracle University from Valerie Hayotte, EMEA Senior Director at Oracle, who presented professional certification programs, workforce development opportunities, and pathways for students and professionals seeking to advance their careers in technology.

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing participants to engage directly with Oracle experts and discuss opportunities in technology education, certification, and career development.

The initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of StrategEast and BTU to strengthen digital skills development, connect academia with global technology leaders, and support the growth of the technology ecosystem in Georgia.
