Armenia, OPIC mull expansion of cooperation

An Armenian government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan met in Washington. D.C. April 12 with the Executive Director of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) David Bohigian, the United States government’s agency that helps American businessmen to invest in emerging markets.

According to the Armenian government, during the meeting, Grigoryan stressed the importance of cooperation between OPIC and Armenia and presented the main areas in which interaction could be expanded.

Grigoryan was said to have presented the priorities of the Armenian government to Bohigian and touched upon the main areas in which the implemented reforms led to the growth of the Armenian economy. According to him, the accomplishment of establishing the institution of primary public offering will increase the opportunity of realizing the investment potential of the population and the Diaspora.

The sides also exchanged thoughts on the expansion of the activities of the OPIC Corporation in Armenia and prospects for the development of cooperation.
