The aqueduct from this settlement is to be reconstructed with the European Union’s support.

Under the project, 4.6 km of the aqueduct of drinking water under pressure and 8.5 km of water supply networks will be restored in the Drochia town. At the same time, the water supply networks from Drochia will be extended by 8.9 km.

Also, a station of treating drinking water will be built in this settlement; two pumping stations, seven water towers and six reservoirs of drinking water will be rehabilitated in this settlement. At the same time, seven hydrophore stations will also be set in multistoried blocks of flats.

“The supply of communities from northern Moldova with quality water, as well as with sanitation services is a priority for us and we use every possibility to bring good running water to as many dwellings as possible. We manage to do this also due to the support of development partners,” the ADR Nord director, Vitalie Povonschi, told MOLDPRES.

The Drochia project is financed by the European Union, in cooperation with the programme, Modernization of local public services in Moldova. The programme is implemented by the German Agency of International Cooperation, in partnership with the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry, governments of Sweden and Romania and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
