EU welcomes Ukraine’s progress in implementing the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area

On 3 March, the Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Christian Danielsson, and Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, held a joint conference on the results of the implementation of the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement in 2019 and the priorities for the coming years.

Welcoming the government’s progress in implementing the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), Danielsson said: “Ukraine is the most ambitious Agreement that the EU has ever developed with any partner. As a result of our joint efforts, the bilateral trade flows between the EU and Ukraine, increased by 49% during the first three years of the application of the Agreement.”

During his visit, Danielsson also met with Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko and key anti-corruption stakeholders.
