EU4Energy supports transposition of gas network codes in Moldova

Under the EU4Energy technical assistance project, Energy Community Secretariat experts are drafting legal acts to transpose two Third Energy Package gas network codes into the national legal framework of Moldova. The working meeting with Moldovan stakeholders (National Energy Regulatory Agency of Moldova (ANRE), Moldovatransgaz, Moldovagaz) took place on 1 April in Chisinau.

Network codes are technical rules supporting the implementation of the Third Energy Package. Once adopted by ANRE, Moldova will have capacity allocation mechanism rules in place that will provide for harmonized auctions when grid operators sell access to pipelines and harmonised transmission tariff structures for gas.

As a Contracting Party to the Energy Community Treaty, Moldova has an obligation to transpose the two network codes by 29 June 2019.
