Finland invests EUR 6 mln in development of ‘green’ projects in Ukraine

Ukraine and Finland create a EUR 6 million trust fund to finance the preparation of “green” projects in Ukraine.

The Governmental portal reports this, referring to chairman of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Serhiy Savchuk.

“We, the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NEFCO establish a EUR 6 million trust fund to finance the preparation of “green” projects in Ukraine,” Savchuk announced.

He also recalled that Ukraine was closely cooperating on renewable energy with Germany and Denmark.

“The statistics reflect a permanent global trend – the large-scale development of clean energy for solving the issues of energy supply to communities, achieving energy independence, as well as reducing harmful emissions and preserving the environment. Ukraine also follows this trend by creating favorable conditions for attracting green investment and functioning of business in this field,” said the chairman of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine.
