Sweden supports implementation of reforms in Moldova

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Aureliu Ciocoi had a meeting with Anna Lyberg, Ambassador of Sweden to Moldova, the MAEIE press service has reported.

Officials discussed topical issues on the agenda of Moldovan-Swedish relations, especially those regarding boosting the political dialogue, expanding sectoral cooperation, using development projects implemented with the support of Sweden. An exchange of views was held on the implementation of justice reforms and developments in the Eastern Partnership.

Ciocoi noted that Sweden is an important development partner for Moldova, and thanked for the assistance in priority areas such as the progressive economic integration in the EU, development of the market economy, including the information technology sector, strengthening democracy and human rights and environment protection.

Ambassador Anna Lyberg voiced confidence that cooperation between our countries will continue to develop in areas of common interest, and reiterated Sweden’s support in implementation of reforms, including by providing financial assistance through the Agency for International Development Cooperation.
