Ukrainian SkyUp Airlines to purchase 5 Boeing aircrafts of latest generation valued at $624 million

The Ukrainian SkyUp Airlines and Boeing corporation have entered an agreement on the manufacturing of 5 Boeing 737 MAX aircrafts worth a total of $624 million. The press service of the airline company has informed about this.

According to the company’s representatives, SkyUp Airlines is the first corporation to sign a contract on the shipment of Boeing 737 MAX and to transfer the first tranche not only within Ukraine, but also in the CIS, Central Asia and Eastern Europe. Also, for the very first time on the European market, an agreement was signed even before the airline has operated its first flight.
The company has ordered two Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircrafts with 189 seats each for medium-haul flights over 5 thousand kilometers, as well as three Boeing 737 MAX 10 with 230 seats for chartered flights to popular destinations such as Egypt, Turkey, Spain, etc.

SkyUp Airlines says that the Boeing 737 MAX that have replaced the previous Boeing 737 Next Generation line, have low operational costs, which will allow the carrier to offer tickets at significantly lower prices. At the same time, the airplanes remain extremely secure and reliable even in long-distance flights and have already proved efficient, safe and comfortable for passengers. Boeing 737 MAX are already used by Qatar Airways, Virgin Australia, Air Canada, flydubai and other airline carriers.
The airplanes will be delivered to Ukraine from the Boeing Seattle plant in 2023. Also, the terms of the agreement enable the order to be doubled and to acquire as many as 10 innovative aircrafts by that date.
“I am sure that Ukrainians will be happy with the SkyUp flight experience, while our cooperation with the Boeing corporation will become a strong advantage on the Ukrainian aviation market,”- the CEO of the company Yevhen Khaynatsky said.
