World Bank to provide Uzbekistan with $300 million on urban infrastructure, entrepreneurship development

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov held talks with World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Cyril Muller.

The meeting was held as part of the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Washington for the Spring Meetings of the Board of Governors of the World Bank and the IMF.

The parties discussed the prospects for the development of further cooperation between the World Bank and Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan and the World Bank signed loan agreements totaling US$300 million to finance projects in Uzbekistan aimed at improving municipal services and urban infrastructure and developing entrepreneurship in the Fergana Valley.
